Last summer I was walking to the car, camera in hand, when this little guy landed on my shirt. So I set him on a leaf and he let me snap a few photos. And I don’t think I have ever seen a ladybug with so many spots on his wing covers. Is it true that the number of spots on a ladybug’s back correlates with their age? Or is that just an elementary school myth?

Oh, I so adore ladybugs – this photograph is stunning!
Great photo! I love the bookah.
What lens did you use? And if I can ask, what was your aperture and shutter speed?
Thank you both very much!
I was using m 55-200mm lens because it all happened so fast but if I would have had the time I would have liked to switch to my 60mm micro.
Below is some Exif data for the photo…
* Focal Length: 200mm
* Aperture: f/5.6
* ISO: 500
* Shutter Speed: 1/500 second
